Soaring senior’s surprise call
Meet Margaret; an exuberant senior from southern Sydney. She’s just received a surprise call from AGL which will see her jet across the globe.
It’s all part of AGL’s partnership with NSW Seniors Card. By making energy deals easier and more rewarding for seniors, AGL is encouraging Aussies over 60 to get out, explore and do more of what makes them excited.
Margaret, who plays great grandmother to 26 little ones, needs little encouragement to keep active.
“ I love ballroom dancing” she says. “Men of my age don’t do dancing, but I love it; I'll get up on the dancefloor and I’ll dance on my own!”
“I walk everywhere, because I don’t have a car, and that’s what keeps me fit. Everybody asks me: What’s the secret of being young? And I say, don’t let stress get to you, enjoy your life, and laugh.”
There are more laughs in store this year, as Margaret prepares to jet to England with her 1 million flybuys points from AGL. “I’m not going to have to pay a penny!” she says.
AGL’s partnership with flybuys means customers can earn points just by paying their bills. Simply link your AGL and flybuys accounts to collect 1 flybuys point for every $1 spent on AGL household gas and electricity bills, when you sign up for eBilling and My Account. Get all the details here.
And if you’re jetting locally, don’t forget – as a member of AGL Rewards you’ll also have access to over 1,600 offers nationally with discounts on restaurants, experiences, movie tickets and more. Another great excuse to get exploring!
As for keeping energy bills at bay, Margaret dishes out some sage advice.
“When you get your bill in, get in front of it by paying every fortnight or whenever you get paid. [When] I get paid with my pension, I go to the post office and I pay $50 on my electricity bill to keep me well in front so I don’t owe anything.”
